[FIXED] Virtual Background not working - Mac OS

Hi, I’ve just purchased studio and to my disappointment - it simply doesn’t work as advertised…
There’'s no way do define a shape of a person in foreground and detection apparently doesn’t work.
There’s simply a weird shape (both blur and background). Metal rendering on.

Details below.

iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014)
OS Catalina 10.15.4 (19E287)
Model Identifier: iMac15,1
Processor Name: Quad-Core Intel Core i7
Processor Speed: 4 GHz
Memory: 32 GB
AMD Radeon R9 M295X:

Model ID: UVC Camera VendorID_1452 ProductID_34065

Hi @VisiOne,

Unfortunately, it doesn’t work on some AMD cards, possible options:

  1. try to switch to the Intel card (if you have)
    image

  2. wait for an update (we are fixing the issue right now)

  3. if you can’t wait, ask for a refund here ManyCam | Live video software & Virtual Webcam

Hi @ieo,

Thank you for the quick response, I’ll be waiting for an update.

Yes, it works on a Macbook Pro with an integrated Intel video.
But it’s CPU intensive and edge detection is a bit jerky. But I understand that’s a new feature and it will take some time before you’ll match Zoom & Skype…

Hi @VisiOne,

Could you test our latest beta for mac: https://manycam.com/beta/
We expect the problem on AMD should be fixed in this version.
Thanks in advance.

I installed 7.1.1 (beta) and can confirm that it fixed the “Blur” feature (and also the "I don’t have a green screen feature) on my MacBook Pro.
Radeon Pro 560 4GB, Intel HD Graphics 630 1536 MB

Yes, the problem is fixed now! Thank you for the extremely quick fix! Amazing job! Thank you!

The head/shoulder contour detection isn’t perfect yet, but quite acceptable.
