Can I add GIFs to favorites?

I can add text, timer, lower thirds, etc. but cannot work out how to add frequently-used effects such as images or GIFs. Clicking the heart on individual images doesn’t seem to work.

Is it even possible, and if not, could it be included as a feature please?

Using MAC version 7.8.1.1.

Once you click the heart icon, the effect goes into Favorites.
